more mauve stingers...

there had been waves of jellyfish reports for the south of france but i had not seen any laterly. that is until thursday. when i went swimming, i counted 15 in the water and probably twice that caught and killed by the other people on the beach. i saw one in the water with two lines of stingers that were more than 2 meters long. the longest i have seen. most i see only have short ones or none of the fine lines but the heavy tentacles. i also saw some fish attacking one, about 6 fish crowding around one, nipping at it. it looked like they pushed it to the surface. first time i had seen some thing like that too.

the water was pretty warm, fairly clear (maybe 8-10+ meters visiblity) and extremely calm.

ps. the following day i saw none in the water and only a couple caught by other people.
