White Jelly

Description and Comments

This jellyfish I photographed in the Sulu Sea, Philippines at around 20 meters depth. It was about 25cm wide and had only very short tentacles.
Species name is appreciated. Thanks.

I still can't even make a guess on what species. Half of Cyanea species are essentially nominative. I'll have to look into it further.

According to Rob Condon, who studied these for his dissertation, this is Cyanea nozakii. Nice pictures!
