Monterey Bay transect for Molas
Description and Comments
South Bay/Pt. Pinos; slicks were holding lots of C. fuscescens, Phacellophora, Aequorea and Aurelia labiata. No Mola molas.
Mid Bay/Canyon; lots of C. fuscescens, Phacellophora and Aurelia labiata. No molas.
North Bay/offshore Santa Cruz; No jellies, lots of algal debris, no molas. Lots of birds.
Moss Landing/Canyon head; lots of C. fuscescens, captured one 30 cm mola. Sighting is marked at this location.
South Bay/Marina/Seaside; C. fuscescens, Phacellophora and Aurelia labiata. Spotted two small 40cm molas, captured one.
