thysanostoma loriferum
Description and Comments
I found this jellyfish sighting in an article (I didn't find it). I don't recognize the stunning purple color. The sighter doesn't know either. Any ideas? Looks like maybe Chrysaora of some kind? Found on Main Road, Still Bay West, South Africa.

Our "team of experts" says Thysanostoma! Very cool. Hard to recognize without the long oral arms.
That makes sense! Thank you.

Yes, without the distinctive oral arms of Thysanostoma, they are often unrecognizable, however still retaining an enigmatic beauty in its creation.
