Aequorea victoria on the Beach
Description and Comments
There were hundreds of small Aequorea victoria along the shoreline. Some were as small as a quarter while others were about the size of the palm of my hand. Clear gelatinous bodies with texture striations radiating like a fan.

That is a really cool photo,
That is a really cool photo, but maybe Aequorea instead of a salp?

You are probably right, jellywatch. Now that I have a name to Google, it's easy to see that this is more likely an Aequorea victoria. I wish there were more images on the Internet of how we would normally come into contact with them, as I did, as a blob of clear jelly on the sandy beaches. As often as I take sunset photos, I have to say that I have never seen any bioluminescence from them. Thank you for the correction.
Yes, it is hard to translate
Yes, it is hard to translate the blobs on the beach into animals in the water. Do you mind if I post your photo on our facebook page? It is really other-worldly!
No objection at all! Thanks
