Pink Meanie in Fort Pierce Inlet
Description and Comments
Small. Golfball sized. 1/2 mile inside the Fort Pierce Inlet. Stung me on chest and when I looked I realized this was one I had never seen before. From what I could find, it looked like a pink meanie. Tried to find it after a couple of minutes rubbing my chest but it was gone. Color was definitely pink.

That was probably Pelagia
That was probably Pelagia noctiluca - worldwide warm water distribution, best known in the Mediterranean in summer months. Pelagia was reported on Florida Atlantic beaches in late May. Size and shape of bell are "golf ball", it is pinkish and it stings.
