More jellies in Monterey

Description and Comments

Just like the previous week, many hydrozoans and ctenophores were abundant in LCCs. Water was very brown near the aquarium but lightened up to a nice green/blue a few miles off Pt. Pinos. Pleurobrachia and Bolinopsis were at the surface nearshore, but everything else was offshore. Pleurobrachia, Bolinopsis, Hormiphora, Aglauropsis, Annatiara, Eutonina, Clytia(or something like it), Mitrocoma(only one), various siphonophores and small 1-2" moon jellies. Large, old and parasite ridden moon jellies were also present. Lots of Postelsia palmaeformis was present in this very large slick along with other intertidal algae.
