Moons and nettles still persist in south Monterey Bay

Description and Comments

There are still plenty of sea nettles and moon jellies, mixed together, in a layer just below the surface. The moon jellies are mostly large, >30 cm with a few 10 cm animals. Similarly, the nettles are mostly >25 cm with a few small ones still hanging around. We collected one Scrippsia as well. Large Aequorea were also present at the surface.
