Summer Santa Barbara Beach Sighting 1
Description and Comments
Sighting of what appeared to be jellyfish near Steams Pier/Wharf. Discovered near the tide line a couple of feet from the pier along with another jelly. Jellyfish had no tentacles attached but the body was clearly squishy and somewhat clear/translucent. When moved both Jellyfishes were fluid like sacs of water (?) and could roll across the sand. Sand stuck to the bottoms of the Jellyfish. Surroundings were near Chase Beach Park as well as Skater's Point, however it was more towards the Seams Wharf side a couple feet from the actual pier near a couple of sun bathers. About 3-4 feet from the tideline, sighted at about 2/3pm.
