Mnemiopsis and Beroe
Description and Comments
An odd sight of many hundred and a slew of Beroe ovata. Haven't seen any in the ICW all summer long. They were coming in with the tide at around 10 pm. Beautiful bioluminescence was occurring (as in the photo). Beroe range from 1cm to 8cm. The particularly odd part was that I collected almost as many Beroe as I did Mnemiopsis. I thought the Beroe would have been more scarce, being predators.

Very cool. Thanks! Mnemiopsis also abundant up in Cape Cod at the moment.
