Cotylorhiza tuberculata sightings

Description and Comments

sorry, it has been a long time and this is a week late. i have not been swimming as much as usual and i had to change to the next beach down for the summer. this will probably be the last report for the year too. but i am happy to report that the reason i have not reported anything is because i have not seen a single jellyfish until the other day, for all the summer and since my last report.

i was just swimming about, for a short one, and swum out deeper (3-5 meters) than usual. i was surprised when i happened to look up and see a fried egg jellyfish. i like these kinds of jellies. each had at least 2 of their little companion fish, and some had 3 fishes living with them. i counted six Cotylorhiza tuberculata as i swam around, but most were confined to a single area, not more than 20 meters apart. i saw no more outside of that area. the waters were a little cooler than the summer high, but not much since there had been no rains, nor cooler weather, in months. i also saw a bunch of little octopi, 3 or 4 hiding, so i will look for them next year.

that is all, i think that i am done for the year too. so i will report again, when i start again. :D (september 10, 2013)
