Washed Up on Bangtao Beach, Phuket

Description and Comments

In a 1/4 mile stretch of beach, I counted 10 washed up jellyfish. Each crown was 10 inches to 16 inches across. Clear with tiny black "freckles" on crowns of some and a few with a large tan crown. No long tentacles. Very firm jellies.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like this could be either the river jelly (Acromitus flagellatus) or the spotted blubber jelly (Catostylus townsendi).
