Lots of jellies on the beach

Description and Comments

There were thousands of blue lions mane jellies, Cyanea lamarckii washing up on both East and West sands beaches today. They were larger and more numerous than earlier sightings in mid-May. Many of these specimens are mature as well. There were a few moon jellies, Aurelia aurita, and even fewer orange lions mane jellies, Cyanea capillata that were not mature. There were several large hydrozoan cross jellies too, but I haven't figured out who they are yet. Many people were leaving the beach because they didn't want their kids to get stung. I think I was the only person happy to see the jellies... But I was stoked!!!
