Mystery hydroids in aquarium
Description and Comments
Found these hydroids growing in my aquarium recently. The aquarium houses life from Charleston, SC. I also put some Floridian Cassiopeia polyps in the tank a few weeks ago. I don't think that is the source of the hydroids. I know it is hard to tell the species, but any ideas are welcome. I'm not sure if these produce medusa yet, but I am hoping! If they do, I'm thinking they are Nemopsis bachei, just by how common they are here.

Yeah. I wish I was able to run some DNA tests myself. I sent one mystery jellyfish to the smithsonian and it's been over a year now. I would analyze the DNA of every jellyfish I've caught if I could :)
