Lions mane jellyfish

I swam off Boulmer beach for 35 minutes at about 16:15 and only realised retrospectively, talking to another swimmer, that the 4-5 clumps of “strange seaweed” I had swum close to in apparently warmer currents were in fact lions manes. I have many very painful stings.
