Purple Striped Jelly SC

A large, purple striped jelly was washed up on Black's Beach, (14TH Ave)in Santa Cruz, Ca.Friday evening, 6/25/21.It appeared newly dead, however, there was no obvious cause. It was very beautiful, and colorful w/ deep purple/reddish stripes and lacy tentacles had blue/purple edges. Its eyes were both still intact. its head measured 10" across. It was in the shorebreak being gently tossed about by the waves.
