Jellies in Nags Head, NC

Description and Comments

There was a large amount of Lion's Mane (Cyanea versicolor) and Crystal Jellies (Rhacostoma sp.) in the water and stranded on the beach. The Crystal Jellies were mainly dead, but there were some live specimens observed. The Lion's Mane was mainly observed alive in the water and were either clear, dark red, or a purple and pink combination.
