Pensacola Florida Surfers Leave the Ocean due to Sea Nettle
Description and Comments
My husband was surfing at the Cross- Pensacola Beach area. He saw many jellies - moon, comb and sea nettle. He finally got out of the water because he was being stung so much by floating tentacle pieces. He only saw a few whole sea nettles.
One surfer reported that he has been surfing the area for over 50 yrs and has never been stung as bad as he was stung today. He was stung by a whole sea nettle.
This photo was taken by someone who scooped the sea nettle (living) up in net and hopefully put it back.
I was on the beach yesterday and did not see any whole dead jellies. I only a few misc. jelly pieces.
