Duval St. Clear Jellys

Description and Comments

Two jellyfish were found washing up on a beach along the north side of Duval st in Key West. One was twice the size of the other. Each were white with no obvious coloration. They each looked very much like a clear zip-lock baggy full of water. The largest would have been a bit larger than a galon bag while the other was the size of two sadwich bags. They were not round or disc shaped (as I understand moon jellys to be) but irregular shaped.

I was treading water at this beach the last two days without seeing any obvious jellys. The beach operator thankfully has a sign warning of jellys in the area. Many folks were in the water at the time of the sighting and as the two jelly swere fished out, unconcerned with remaining in the water.
