Chiropsalmus Sp.

Description and Comments

My dad found three of these box jellies today. Intriguing that they were found late in the season like this. They look to be in good shape, but their bells have the "rubber band effect" where the top looks tapered. That's a sign of stress and diminished health. They also appear to not be moving much. It's not common to find specimens with a whole lot of tentacles either. Healthy specimens seem to have much longer tentacles, but the ones on these specimens are pretty decent.
