Beach skipping

I walk on the beach in Florida(Madeira Beach) 3 to 4 times a week and have been doing so since we moved here this past December 2011. Last week, August 9, I came across about 8 small jellyfish laying on the beach in different locations. They were clear and about 3 inches in circumference. I hadn't really seen any before. Yesterday, the 12th, I did not come across any of them although a friend of mine was out fishing about 12 miles off shore, and they saw a bunch of large jellyfish in the water.

Thanks skipper. We need sightings from regular beach walkers like you. If you can send a snapshot of the jellies, we might be able to figure out what they are. It doesn't sound like the regular cannonball jellies, but maybe a moon jelly? Thanks.
