bioluminescence sighting

While in Puerto Rico, we stayed at Parador Guanica 1929. Behind the Padador is are mangroves and a small bay which contains bioluminescence. When we told one of the Padador workers, they said this was the first report of it & previous reports were that none existed in the bay. We did note a considerable amount of trash locked in the mangroves.....maybe they filtered the toxins out? Let's hope so. Regarding other beaches in the area, Playa Santa to Playa Combate were disturbing: cloudy near the shore with zero visibility unless approximately 100 yards out. Also, a good bit of trash was seen floating around in swimming area -this didn't stop the locals but it sure had us searching for better. Very unfortunate.
