A Massive Jellyfish in NYC

I saw a massive five foot in diameter white-pink jellyfish while swimming with my friend in Manhattan Beach on the south side of Brooklyn. Initially I thought it was a plastic bag. But it expanded and contracted every couple of seconds and was moving toward me and my friend against the current. We both realized it was a jellyfish, panicked, and swam away from it.
