Vashon Moon Jellies Quartermaster Harbor

Description and Comments

Observed many moon jellies, A. labiata, in Quartermaster harbor this morning. It is normal to see many moons there at this time of year. They are in good condition, the females are brooding planulae. The floating docks and wharf pilings here are going to be replaced in the next months. It will be interesting to see if this has any noticeable effect on medusae abundance next year (since much positively identified the polyp habitat is going away soon).
