Jellyfish sting in the Adriatic

I was with friends on the Adriatic coast of Italy and we saw a clear jelly floating in the shallows. We weren’t even sure if it was alive. Then later I was swimming further out and was stung; it could have been the same jelly, but I only felt it and didn’t stop to look for it..!!
