Scrippsia?

Ocean Beach, San Francisco

So many of these little jellyfish (4-6 cm avg) on the beach. Some were pulsing. I’ve heard they can be revived if put back in water so tried scooping them up with san dollars and putting them back in the outgoing tide. (Is that dumb?)

We walk the beach a few times a week usually at sunset and I have other photos (also Velella) but don’t know how to upload a bunch.
