Saw about five or six gelatinous blobs washed up on Ocean Beach in San Francisco in the late afternoon. Largest one was about the size of a US half-dollar

Doesn't look like Aurelia to me, looking at the thickness of the tentacles. The one on the photo looks like it has red spots on the extremity of the bell, so it could be Aglauropsis aeora, Scrippsia pacifica or another Hydrozoan, but I'm not sure.
