hundreds of blue by-the-wind sailors jellyfish Velella Velella washed up in past 2 or 3 days on Washington State's North Coast, specifically Pacific Beach State Park and coast north and south. Clear gel upright fin on cobalt blue gel oval base 1 to two inches in diameter, fin is at angle 45 degrees to straight line through length of jellyfish base (sorry for not knowing correct descriptive terms; I have lived in Washington State more than 30 years, have never seen these jellyfish before; surface of water and surf foam is scummy green; otherwise beach looks same as usual in past
