Tamoya Haplonema

Description and Comments

It was raining jellyfish, especially cubozoans today at Sunset Beach. By chance, I found my first Tamoya haplonema specimen, which was extremely exciting. It was washed up on the beach at high tide. Although it was alive, it had no tentacles left, just the pedalia. It was female and was carrying millions of eggs. None were fertilized, and I only found one Tamoya. A little bit of a bummer there but maybe one day! Specimen was preserved in alcohol.
