Kachemak Bay Velella

A single Velella was found on the outside beach near Seldovia, AK. It was reported to the LEO Network. It was put in a jar and preserved. It was in rough shape but you knew what it was when you saw it. it was in the process of decomposing. The sail was still rigid and the color still blue. The outside beach is composed of gravel to fine sand depending on location on the beach.
