Sea Nettle
Description and Comments
Found on the Florida panhandle on Pensacola beach. The wave came in and I saw something on the beach, it looked like it was rolling some how back toward the water. Then another wave came up, and it did the same thing l, retreated toward the water. We were too quick for this jelly as we grabbed our nets and scooped him up. We placed him in a bucket of water, just long enough to observe, and then we released him. Beautiful creature to look at, but it was enough to keep me out of the water for the day!

Nice specimen! Pretty well
Nice specimen! Pretty well in-tact for a beached specimen. Those on the Atlantic are always heavily deteriorated.
