By-the-Wind Sailor at Lincoln City

Thousands of By-the-Wind Sailor velella washed up on beach near NW 40th in Lincoln City. Wide variety of sizes and conditions. Some areas had fresh appearance and other places looked frothy or dried out. Most of the creatures were on wet sand. In some areas there were so many that it was impossible to walk down the beach without stepping on a few.
