Got stung @Yorktown beach, VA, US

I went to this place first in May and then in July. May was clear but in July they were all over the place. I was not even 3-4 feet away from the shore and I saw three live jellies, all white 6-8 inches wide & surely long tentacles, and got stung by one as well. I've seen several at Myrtle, SC but they were at least 6-10 feet into the water and were all dead - so this experience was, wild!
