Hundreds of Portuguese man-o-war at Waimanalo beach
Description and Comments
Renting our Waimanalo beach home last week, 10/6/13 - 10/15/13 my family of 9 saw hundreds of man-of-wars wash up onto the sand. I first noticed these jellyfish while body boarding. I got stung by one, multiple times. It stuck to my skin, I immediately pulled it out with my left hand. Burning sensation, stomach pain, confusion, & disoriented with lots of hypertension quickly started within a few minutes time. Scary to say the least. Each day more & more washed ashore. The 14th of Oct we finally got back into the water, as we couldn't find any washed up on the sand.
