Lauderdale by the Sea Hundreds of Moon Jellyfish

Description and Comments

I went out snorkeling on Saturday off of the buildings near Palm Avenue in Lauderdale by the Sea. About a half-mile out over the drop-off reef area the Moon Jellyfish were thick. It was near impossible to swim around them at the surface. Divers should be ok, as they were bunched up near the surface. Just don't swim up without taking a good look around...you could get a facefull of Moon Jellyfish. One of them nailed me in an exposed area of skin near my right ankle above my fin heel. It left an ugly, swollen scar and it's incredibly itchy, if not that painful. Hopefully, they've cleared up a litte by now. Anybody been out there recently??
