comb jelly and molluscs
Description and Comments
Rarely seen comb jelly found in the company of a molluscs. These were found within a couple feet of each other, so I got video of both. Photo of cooperative comb jelly. This was the first time I have seen molluscs at the Channel islands. Two were seen on this day. This was the third comb jelly I have seen over the last six years.

Thanks for the interesting
Thanks for the interesting reports. That is Leucothea, and we usually see it in the spring/summer. Any description of the molluscs (sorry we can't put video in the database still). Color or shape?
I'm quite sure it was a Sea

I'm quite sure it was a Sea Butterfly. I'd never seen one prior to that day. They are so graceful when swimming. I'll pass along video if you like. Hope you will again have an open house. Only get up to Monterey once or twice a year. Very interested in the research being done on the Humboldt squid as well.
