Cyclosalpa
Description and Comments
Found two specimens in shallow water. One grape-sized, this one larger than a grape but not by much (Apricot-sized, perhaps). The animals are cylindrical but almost look like plicate, or built from sausage-shaped elements around a superior dimple. Also, it looks like the tentacles are in a veil, like the ctenophoran order Lobata.
This is also posted on inaturalist.org. I would appreciate an email if someone knows what it is.

I know those aren't jellies, but I think those two pelagic mollusk observations, also from today, are interesting for Alaska (the Cliopsis may be a first record for my area):

It was a big day for translucent floaties! I saw siphonophores for only my third time, and first winter sighting.
