Tiny Velella -- Bodega Bay, CA -- 2/19/16

Uncountable numbers of tiny Velella velella washed ashore on Salmon Creek Beach in Bodega Bay, California, on 19 Feb 2016. Most of the Velella were 1 mm across (or smaller!). There were so many tiny Velella that they turned the strand line blue. See attached example.
