By-the-wind Sailors in Bodega Bay, California

Hundreds of By-the-wind Sailors (Velella velella) washing ashore on Bodega Head, California. Most were very large individuals, ~8-10 cm across. A few sea nettles (Chrysaora), sea gooseberries (Pleurobrachia), and Aglauropsis, too.
