Black sea nettle

Tons of black sea nettle washed up on the shore from la jolla-coronado island. one sting reported on pacific beach not sure about others.
i saw at least 20 myself along with a lot of pieces of dead ones washed up on the shore.
the size of the jellyfish were about 2ft wide and tentacles a 3+ft long

Seems like they keep showing
Seems like they keep showing up earlier and earlier each year. They showed in 2005, 2007, 2010 and now 2011. It will be interesting to see how far north they make it this year...
