Jelly swarm at Bali, Uluwatu
Description and Comments
On May 30th around 10:00 am very dense blooms of jellies at the Uluwatu surf break forced most surfers out of the water. The jellies ranged in size from 0.3-3 cm. Some cold water upwelling was observed.
Initially, the stings were only mildly irritating, however eventually the stings became more uncomfortable and eventually quite painful. Welting, some prominent, was observed on victims.
Personally, my stings resolved on their own without treatment within 3 hours.
No one effected could recall a similar episode in this location.

Interesting that they were so
Interesting that they were so small. Could you see shape (flat or domed) or tentacle number (4 or many)?
Thanks for the report!
