Aequorea plus small `cross jelly' (Suffolk, UK)
Description and Comments
About 10 Aequorea, some washed-up, other live ones in shallows. Up to c.20cm bell diameter. Also a very small unidentified c.1cm jelly, shallow bell (not thimble-shaped) with faint cross markings, seemingly containing greenish granules (algae?).

Greenish granules possibly green-fluorescent protein? Check with a blue light if you can, and it might look pretty impressive.

Hi - you mean shine a UV light on it? Pity the little `cross jellies' aren't common here. Would it work with an Aequorea?

Yes, it should work with Aequorea too. You could try a UV light, but you don't even need UV -- just a blue keychain-style LED light should work fine. (Those wavelengths are actually better suited to excite the fluorescence.)
