Massive Presence of Jellyfish Larvae at Takapuna Beach

Description and Comments

Location: Takapuna Beach, Auckland, New Zealand
Description:

During the Christmas holiday, many people came to the beach for swimming, including us. However, I noticed an alarming number of jellyfish larvae in the water, which made me feel uneasy.

These jellyfish were very small, with a diameter of less than one centimeter. They had transparent bodies with visible red, granular-like structures inside. The water was filled with them, and they were present in the areas where people were swimming.

The species is currently unknown, but their sheer number was overwhelming.
