Velella
Description and Comments
Found half a dozen strange looking jelly like creatures washed up on the tide line at the beach today. Also spotted one on a rock near rock pool. Bright vivid blue, flattish oval shape body, about 5-6cm long, with clear transparent ‘sail’ shape attached to the top of body. After ‘Googling’ discovered it’s called a Velella.
