Millions of Mitrocoma in East Sound, Washington

Description and Comments

Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife scientists out doing their regular underwater video transects in East Sound on Orcas Island on November 16, 2010 report most likely millions of 2-3" diameter "white cross" jellyfish (Mitrocoma cellularia) covering more than a mile of open water from the surface to 30 feet deep between Rosario Resort and the head of East Sound.
