Large numbers of Velella in high tide strand line evening of 8Mar2016. All very small, stuck together. I separated 50. All left-handed. All between 0.8 and 2.5 cm length.

I also posted this on Facebook and "friends" reported seeing many small specimens on the beaches at Pillar Point, Davenport Landing, Mitchell's Cove in Santa Cruz, and Asilomar. I encouraged them to post their observations on Jellywatch.org
