Janthina -- Bodega Bay, CA -- 1/19/2016

A few small Velella velella, and thousands of Purple Sea Snails (Janthina umbilicata) washed ashore in Bodega Bay, CA, on 19 January 2016. The Janthina ranged in size from about 0.5 mm to about 7 mm across. First time we've seen them here since 2005.
