many, many many mauve stingers and one possible moon jellyfish

about 15 mauve stingers (pelagia noctiluca)in about five minutes of swimming. normally i swim daily in the sea for about 20-25 minutes. today there there were so many that swimming with a snorkle and mask was too difficult. i was stung twice. i also saw for the first time one that was transparent about the size of a dinner plate. possibly a moon jellyfish (aurelia aurita)but with no tentacles. in three years i have only seen one washed up on the beach. yesterday it was very windy with many waves, which according to my wife is a good predictor for jellyfish the next day.
