velella beaching and some mauve stingers.

finally it is starting to feel like spring/summer and the water is warm enough to start swimming regularly.
on wednesday and i think a day or two before, there was another mass beaching of the medusa velella. not sure why, since there was not really wind to push them there the past day or two. i also saw two mauve stingers on shore and one in the water. this was the first time that i have actually seen the medusa velella in the water, though individuals not a large flotilla. i had to take a picture. :D
