first swim and a comb jelly sighting

i went swimming for the first time this year and it was cold! i think it has been a little bit colder for later than usual. not as many trips to the beach in april as i would have wanted for a variety of reasons.
the water was semi clear, i could probably see about 5 meters, and it was calm today. i saw one octopus and several comb jellies. looking at the wikipedia for ctenophora, i am pretty sure i saw both the lobata type and the beroid. the lobata looking one was cool because because it had waves of coloured lines inside.
there were also the remains of a velella beaching recently.
